About Khary
A VISUAL STORYTELLER
Currently, I am a four-year Presidential and Annenberg Scholar at Howard University in the Cathy Hughes School of Communications. I have been on the Dean of Communication’s Honor Roll since my freshman year. During my four years at Howard I have co-hosted a radio talk show on WHBC96.3HD3 focusing on sports and social justice issues; actively participated on the Spotlight Network editing team reporting on happenings at Howard and the surrounding DC area https://husln4.com/spotlight-exclusives/; provided 2016 post-election commentary for Fusion Median Network https://www.facebook.com/fusionmedianetwork/videos/1647232851969353/; and currently serve as a news reporter for WHUA Newsvision, while interning with WUSA9 as a Digital Intern. Professionally I’m committed to projecting positive images and telling truthful stories about people traditionally marginalized in order to reverse societal inequities. I plan to utilize my skills in media and broadcasting to offer my peers a voice as a means for self-empowerment to take control of their circumstances, and encourage their acquisition of a global perspective to facilitate positive lasting change in their lives. I will always work to play a critical role in improving the future world in which we all must live.
