Howard University hosted award-winning New York Times journalist Nikole Hannah-Jones to speak about her highly- acclaimed 1619 project, which examines the horrors and impact of slavery in the U.S., and the rich contributions of black Americans. Students, faculty and the Howard community took part in the candid discussion co-sponsored by Howard's Department of Media, Journalism and Film and the Pulitzer Center.

The Washington Nationals won their first World Series championship three days prior to their parade. Fans gathered on Constitution Avenue in D.C. to celebrate the Nationals' improbable and inspiring championship run.
HOWARD UNIVERSITY'S 2019 HOMECOMING DAY OF SERVICE
Day of Service marks the beginning of Howard University's Homecoming. Students volunteer for community service across all of D.C. Some students served at a local food bank called Food and Friends. While there, students helped package and sort meals to be delivered to Food and Friends clients.
